CURRENT PUBLIC DEMO

How your data is handled

This page describes the public GitHub Pages demo at thefinxperts.com. A separate private account service has not opened.

What happens in this browser

Manual entries, simple CSV files, broker XLSX or CSV files and CAMS Active Statement PDFs or HTML attachments are read in your browser tab. The Active Statement password is used there only to open a selected PDF. These inputs are not uploaded to TheFinxperts by the public demo. They are not stored in browser local storage or session storage.

Entries remain in the tab while it is open. Refreshing or closing the tab loses the review unless you chose to download a file. After an Active Statement preview, the file selection and password field are cleared. Your browser may retain temporary data in memory until it releases it or the tab closes.

Files you choose to download

The readable summary and restorable JSON contain your holdings, values, goals, any imported scheme category and units, any user-entered NAV or stock-price estimate with its earlier value and dates, and any entered stock share count, any fund expense ratios and dates, and any reserve totals you enter. A download saves a copy on your device under your browser's download settings. Keep it private and delete it from your device when you no longer need it. Clearing the page does not delete a file you downloaded.

Network requests and other services

Your browser requests the demo's page, scripts, styles and fonts from GitHub Pages. The demo code does not request Google Fonts or another third-party service while you review holdings. It does not put holdings or statement contents in page requests. There is no analytics tracker or advertising code in the demo.

The public demo has no Gmail connection, account saving, live market feed, or original scheme-level CAS upload. Its automatic feature checks are GET requests to the same site; they do not include a portfolio or PDF.

Before a private account service opens

A separate Auth0 and PostgreSQL service is planned. If enabled, signing in and explicitly saving a review will involve those providers and a saved copy of normalized holdings, goals and any optional reserve totals. An optional original CAS preview would send its PDF and password to the signed-in service for that request; the current public demo does not offer that feature. The private service needs its own final notice covering providers, data location, retention, deletion and a contact route before real users are invited.
